Ford E350 XLT Econoline Camper Van - custom conversion by Contravans in Colorado in 2021
This van let us travel and boondock with our three kids when they were younger and wanted to be outside camping with us all the time. We had so many adventures in this beast - from chasing sunsets in Big Bend to hiking river valleys in Colorado. Our family is in a different phase of life now and we are committed to local pursuits, but this van let us make many amazing memories.
ContraVans did a great job, especially on the electrical system. Our food stayed cold and our devices stayed charged while off grid. The battries (24v) charge while driving and by solar, all monitored by a bluetooth app.
The front half of the van is factory installed seating that lets kids sit front-facing with carseats. The two front captains chairs swivel to face the bench, creating a nice sitting area while parked. Back half of the van is a lounging area by day, bed by night.
The kitchen in the back of the van is a favorite - everything stays organized and makes it easy to eat healthy on the go.
The Webasto heater is another favorite feature. It taps into the fuel tank- no dealing with propane cans or fumes. You can set it on a timer or thermostat and it uses a very low amount of fuel.

A few notes:
Tire pressure sensor blinks regardless of the actual tire pressure, so we just check the tire pressure the old-fashioned way.
The radio doesn't work. It's an 7" Boss Touchscreen with removable face. The screen went black and we never replaced it.
Rooftop tent not included.
