ELKHORN
2000 Fleetwood Elkhorn 9T Truck Camper
-- Queen bed over cab sleeps 2 adults, and.
-- 4 seat dinette converts to a bed that can sleep 2 children or 1 adult and.
-- Loft bed over dinette sleeps someone under 150lbs
-- 3 way fridge
-- 3 burner stove and oven
-- Microwave
-- Roof air
-- Heater
-- Bath with sink and stand-up shower
-- 4 Power jacks
-- Dual 20 lb LP tanks
-- Bay for a generator that has been converted to hold extra batteries
-- Very spacious, with lots of cabinets for storage
-- California camper. This spent most of it's life in Stockton CA (a warm, dry climate), and the last 4 years in Camarillo CA under our ownership (also mostly warm and dry).
-- We are the 3rd owners. First owner had it for about 18 years and took very nice care of it (I spoke with him). The second owner is in the Air Force and also gave it proper care, but only had it for a year. I bought it in 2019 (I'm retired Air Force) - so also take care of my gear.
-- Truck not included, picture is to show what it looks like mounted in our pick-up
-- Reason for sale: We don't camp much, so moving this on to find someone who will use it more. We have land, so going to a campground puts us in a more crowded place.
-- Requires truck with an 8 foot bed, rated 3/4 ton or more
-- Would be great for a small family, couple, sportsperson, and/or adventurer
-- Roof was redone by the first owner around 2016
-- Full disclosure -- post hurricane Hilary I noticed a small amount of moisture on one side of the front window. This occured once in the past and I resealed, which fixed it. However, Hilary dumped a lot of rain on us, so it needs another reseal. It's not a huge job, but I discounted the price because I just took a short notice teaching job and don't have the time to work on it before the next rainy season.
-- If you are familiar with truck campers you know the front window is usually an issue. So much so, that big builders like Lance just don't put a window there anymore.
-- We haven't used the camper is several years, so I'm unsure about the state of the batteries. It's been on the smart charger, and seems fine -- but you won't know until you go camping.
-- Similarly, I have not run a systems check on everything. I've reduced the price to reflect this. Everything is there, but you may have to tinker a bit to get it all 100% functional.
-- Cash only
Thank you for looking at our ad! Email or call me (my name is Marc) with any questions.
