QuickStart Remote Start kit for Yamaha generators – Start your generator from up to 75 feet away

Yamaha Motor Corporation recently announced a wireless starter add-on for the EF3000iSE and EF3000iSEB generators. Now you can start and stop a Yamaha generator with the touch of a button.

According to Yamaha…

Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., announces the wireless QuickStart Remote Start Kit for Yamaha’s EF3000iSE and EF3000iSEB generators, allowing you to start and stop your generator from up to 75 feet away. This new accessory is available from authorized Yamaha generator dealers nationwide and is compatible with all previous and current model year EF3000iSE and EF3000iSEB generators.

“We are excited to offer the QuickStart remote as an added benefit to our generator customers,” said Colin Iwasa, power equipment sales manager at Yamaha. “Convenience, ease-of-use and installation is key when developing our products and the new remote could make our best-selling generator even more enjoyable.”

Even on cold mornings, the easy-to-carry key fob transmitter allows fully automatic start-ups with the touch of a button by activating the choke. The function and integrity of the panel-mounted key switch is maintained, permitting local operation.

The FCC-approved system uses encoded transmissions to prevent false operations from other remotes or signals. The standard system has a range of up to 75 feet; an optional external antenna is also available to extend the unobstructed range to as much as 300 feet away.

Best of all, no additional modification is necessary, allowing the remote to be installed on all existing Yamaha EF3000iSE and EF3000iSEB generators.

  1. I have this exact Yamaha generator with the remote start kit. It needs to be installed by the dealer and there's no manual. It was fine until the battery went dead and the control unit lost the programming. Now it won't recognize the remote and I can't reprogram it. Nothing on the website… only the dealer can do it. Unfortunately even my dealer doesn't know how to reprogram it. Waiting to for him to find out how to do it 🙁 Yamaha should really publish this manual.

  2. I have the same setup. I installed the remote myself, it came with a paper installation manual. I think all you need to do is "pair" the remote with the receiver again. You do that by using a paper clip in the tiny hole on the back of the remote. A blue light will flash. Then push the button on the receiver board inside the generator. That will flash green. Then the two will pair again.

  3. I have exactly the same situation. I can't get the remote to communicate with the receiver since the battery died. And it's a royal pain to start manually because the manual choke is disconnected!
